We are encountering power outage frequently, does it affect setting of pressure switch. I had a pressure gauge reading at 90 psi max. Before it was on 60 psi range.
Hi I am trying to connect to a Franklin Electric SubDrive 75 which is a VFD for a well. Says it shouldn't be used with GFCI or externally regulated generator. How do I know if my generator is externally regulated? I have a 5000W Generac generator. Can I use an inverter generator?
I also like how you get to the point thank you
So helpful
Glad you think so!
If I was running a hose to fill a small pool, should I temporarily turn the low pressure cut off switch off? My shuts off after filling the pool for a little while. When I hit the start switch it rapidly gets pressure and everything is fine.
How do I find my sump pump? Cannay find it.
Thank you for a great video that got our water back without calling the well company. We have a well with a submersible pump and am M$ pressure switch. We just had new landscaping put in with a soaker irrigation system. the landscapers left with all the outside spigots on and shortly thereafter we had no water. I got the water going again after watching your video. The switch is installed with the lever about 4 inches from the foundation so I could not see the "run-start-off' markings. Long term, would installing a larger tank (current one is 20 gal) along with putting the soakers on timers be a good idea?
Yes, a larger tank will allow the pump to cycle less and increase the life of the system.
Good job! Exactly what I needed to see!
Glad I could help!
Hey! I remember you guys. Haven't seen you in a while. Thought I wuz already subscribed. Good stuff.
Is it normal for the green to be cut off the 3 wire motors? Mine is a 1hp gould
The older motors did not have a ground wire.
@@RCworstwater When you say did not have a ground do you mean that it was removed or not ever there? We had to pull our pump up not too long ago and replace the impeller and I noticed the green wire was cut off. Which I don't really know but I'm wondering if it is wired correctly.
Did you just say "a die to tap it"?
Can you show me how to do this upside down in the bottom of a 4’ hole with water trickling out of it during a blizzard with no electricity or gas
Good video btw 👍🏻
It’s 2024 and I’m a contractor/homeowner. This video was very simple, easy to understand, and gave all the relevant information in a well constructed manner. I’ll be turning to your channel for answers first from now on. Much appreciated.
useless video - how do we check a state of operation that requires the pump to start when this video is specifically for a pump that does NOT start!!!
This helped me replace a leaking 1" PVC adapter that had sprung pinhole leaks at the seam.
Thank you
You're welcome
so the pressure switch is just connected to the power through a breaker?
Chris what is type of oil you should put in the pump.
Dielectric/Transformer oil
It's a crappy situation.
I am building a Mother in-law house and want to tie into the existing septic tank. It will be 60-70’ away. I was told an expensive grinder pump is what was needed. Are there other alternative ways? Both houses are at 2-3’ elevation above septic tank

I recently had a bad water leak under ground plumber used a leak detection company to find the leak plumber repaired the leak but ever since the water surges when you turn the tap on like there is air in the system
Thumbs down for this"man" wearing earrings like a girl
So my compressor doesn't have the small second spring how would I go about lowering the cut out ,because my compressor won't cut off when full
So this company is anti-consumer and even outright admits that professional installers are their customers, not the people actually paying for the system. DIYers are cut out to ensure higher profits for the pros. I'm sure this will lead to higher prices for actual customers and maybe even designed with planned obsolescence and proprietary nonsense. I look forward to China copying and undercutting soon!
Thanks to your helpful video, I just bought a well-x-trol 119 gal (150 psi) well water pressure tank. I now need a new Pressure switch and gauge. Do you recommend a 40/60 psi or 50/70 psi? I have a big house with many bathrooms and a big lawn that needs watering. Is there any drawback to the 50/70 psi switch?
Do VFD pumps have lower startup current?
Always turn off the power, yep I forgot yesterday and got a lovely shop for my troubles
Amen 😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏 te amo jesus😊
Ahh! Thank you so much! The pressure switch on my brand new pump had a contact pop off and I was trying to figure out how to remove the pressure switch to put a new one on. I knew how to do the first step of removing the incoming wires, but wasn't sure how it attached. Now I see that threaded piece. That helps. I will need to get those fork terminals for my wires eventually. I'm about to pause the video and go try this before it gets dark. Hmm.. changed the switch but it is making a ton of noise. Chattering very loudly and sounds like it might be short cycling. Ugh.
Where do u set it on the ohm meter
Is this pressure switch the same as a air compressor switch?
Thank you! Would both of the "out" ports at the bottom of the contactor also be hot? What if my pump and the breaker that feeds it both have ground wires. Could I tie that to some sort of terminal block? What if I wanted to use sensors that touch the water to detect the level? I saw something called GRL8 versions 1 and 2 and am wondering if that could be used and if a contactor would be needed as an intermediary as I have 10awg wire and the controller can only use up to 12awg. I want my pump to do the opposite though-- shut off when water is up and turn on when water is low.
Can you heat pvc like this to connect it to galvanized??? My well outflow is going to be plummed galvanized outflow burried into pvc...
Thanks for the video! I recently came across a 1/1.5HP control box like this one and the start capacitor was definitely cooked. It leaked out all the electrolyte inside and the actual contact itself was also completely corroded. I changed out the start capacitor for one with the same microfarads and replaced the connector cable. However, it still didn't want to start up. I ended up replacing the entire control box and then it worked. Does the capacitor need to be the same brand? The relay measured correctly. I did not check the run capacitor as I did not have a spare one of those. Could it be that both capacitors were bad? Do you sell replacement capacitors? Thanks!
Gd Day.Hw do I lengthen the cycle
There is one air valve inlet top of the pressure tank..what is the purpose of this point
Thanks a ton! My pump would NOT turn off, so the fine adjustment at the cut off was exactly what I needed. It's not a permanent fix, but it will prevent my pump form burning itself out in the meantime!
I really like your videos and the way you present the information Thanks
My sumisable pump overheating during 11 00am up to 14:00 am what is wrong.
I got hose connections, they came with rubber o-rings, extra o-rings, AND teflon tape....Why is there tape if o-rings are enough?
Great explanation I like the idea of offsetting the petcock as well.
If you read.all teflon it requires atleast 3 ooverlapping layers of tape.to.cover each thread. Typically will do 4 to 5 wraps over lapped keeping the first thread or 2 then touch it with dope all the way around from.the second thread till just a smidge before the teflon stops if it's runny as he'll cause it's hot out. Or humid etc I will sometimes hit the in side of the female connection at the first or second thread with a dab of the pipe dope
Top notch video
I have two hydrants to change out on a farm next month, not worried about using a swing joints. Since both will be buried 4’ or so under ground. Not looking forward to digging them up, hopefully it will be dry down there. Both are in a horse barn.
Doesn't work properly if you can reset the unit. Not buy that garbage. Try many time to reset i used in my primary house change at new one house, my ex-wife configurated, have to reset for new data, not body can do it.
Opinion of a low pressure cutoff switch and overide lever ?
I like the connectors you used for the screws. What kind of adapter is at the end of the flexible conduit connecting to the switch box? Is that available in non-metallic?
Do voltage check on line 1 to y and b and r and so same to line2
